Medley of motor changes sees 30% savings at a West Midlands Community Leisure Trust

8 September, 2025

A Leisure Centre, run by a West Midlands Community Leisure Trust, on behalf of the Council, has seen 30% blended savings at one of its swimming pools.

Future Motors used their cutting-edge technology to replace 8 motors including belts & pulleys, plus motor changes only for existing direct drives.

The installation was made possible because the Council was granted money from the Swimming Pool Support Fund (SPSF).

The SPSF, which is now closed, has provided a total of £80 million to local authorities in England as a support package for public leisure facilities with swimming pools. The aims included helping organisations to reduce their energy consumption level, support environmental and financial sustainability and to help reduce their carbon output in line with the government's Net Zero by 2050 objectives.
